- Wedding: September 2013 - The Skinner Barn
I’m getting married in the field behind a beautiful barn in Vermont and I’m thrilled with the location. The only issue is, there is an ordinance that doesn’t allow for any outdoor amplification AT ALL. The officiant can’t be mic-ed and we certainly can’t have any amplified music.
This is such a pain. Our justice of the peace kind of broke it to us nicely that, if he doesnt scream at the top of his lungs, our 80ish guests won’t hear anything past the first few rows.
In terms of music, I always dreamed of walking down the aisle to Ben Folds’ The Luckiest. Now we’re going to hire a college student from the guitar program at the local university to play acoustic for us. I’m hoping that I can have him learn something that I like and that he won’t just play whatever he’d like. I can’t afford to hire a professional so I guess I get what I get.
Anyone else run into a similar situation at their venue?
