Aww man, that’s too bad.  It looks like something that fits perfectly for your vision! πŸ™

Maybe show him some pictures of the venues all done up for weddings (if there have been weddings there before) so he can better picture what it would look like on your day? I’ve found that guys often have trouble visualizing the big picture or being able to see what something will look like with all the details pulled together. Good luck–hope you can both find something you love.

I’m sorry honey! I feel your pain.  FI and I went and toured one place in August, and he LOVED it.  I was more like, WTF? It had moose heads and acorns on the carpet and a big stuffed bear in the lobby.  I was NOT loving it.  Then we settled on another place, and after 2 months of not hearing from the coordinator, I learned she had been FIRED, and had neglected to mention the outrageous food and beverage minimum.  I cried for 2 hours, mostly out of frustration.

Then by accident we stumbled upon our venue.  It is so amazing, it has been worth all of the agony to get there! πŸ™‚

I can sympathize on this. When Fiance and I were looking at places, he got all aggro about how one of the places, which had GORGEOUS gardens, felt like a cemetary. I didn’t like it for a different reason (the indoor space wasn’t all that useable) but I got so upset thinking we were going to be on totally different pages because I didn’t get the funereal vibe at all and he was all like IT’S CREEPY IT’S CREEPY.

Oh Crebre-those venues are totally awesome and completely you it just sucks the M doesn’t share your vision. Maybe he can’t look past the surface and see the amazing things I’m sure you’d be able to do. Hope he comes around to your vision.

Haha, you know we had that same problem and the Fiance just told me it was like ring shopping when we both fell in love with it then it was right.  And you know I hate to say it but the boy was right!  We visited 10 venues and finally the last one was it! Had something special for both of us.

Hang in there!  btw…I love the greece inspired one.  You could do some cool uplighting on those columns to give it a modern feel.  Just thought I’d throw that out there.

give him time. J has changed his mind more than carrie bradshaw in a shoe closet. He thinks he wants everything, and just needs to see it the right way to realize how much. So, basically, if I present something the right way, I get what I want. πŸ™‚ And if I can’t decide, I let him. hehe…

@cre ….no smile!! πŸ™‚

I’m sorry you and your future hubby arn’t seeing eye to eye on this one (for the record, peacocks? that is amazing!) but you WILL find one. Maybe you could have a location for the ceremony more your style and throw in some modern elements to the reception (as long as you blended it to your theme…but I think it could be done!!)

Rest of your day go alright? I wish I could have chatted weddings with you all day…I was in wayy more of a wedding mood today then a work one :X hehe

Wow, I love that first venue!  He will eventually come around, like everyone is saying – when it’s the right one, both of you will know it.  Or he will realize that what he wants is out of the budget – that usually brings my mister back to reality πŸ˜‰

I’m sorry you’ve agreed to marry a madman, since he’s clearly insane for not liking the Greek architecture venue. Seriously, woman – what’s wrong with him?! Hopefully he’ll come to his senses.
