We are thinking of doing the same thing, our venue offers us banquet chairs that are black(kinda like the ones in the photo) I dont like the look for chair covers, we are having a fall wedding and im really into the rustic feel so the chair covers wont go well with that look, I really was looking in the chivari chair rentals, but when we went to our food tasting, the wedding cord. actually talked me out of it, chivari chairs are about 700-800 around here to rent and she even said that first two people walking into your reception are the only people that are going to see a full view, after that your guests will be sitting in the chairs or up and dancing and the money for chair rentals really arent worth it.

I don’t have any pictures to share, but I think ivory, blush, navy, and silver would actually look really good together. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it! I’m picturing ivory linens and blush roses with those chairs, and I think it looks good!

I don’t think your chairs are bad at all so you can get away without chair covers. Unfortunately, my venue was not so lucky. I hate the look of them (covers) I really do and the Chiavari chairs are just out of budget. But once I saw these bad boys I had to get covers….

like WHY WOULD YOU  HAVE THESE!?!?!?!

i don’t have a picture from my wedding, but these are the chairs we used. my reception was outside, so they worked out perfectly and they were comfortable. i think the chairs at your venue look fine ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my gosh, those chairs are gorgeous for venue provided chairs! I think they will look gorgeous. I probably would have incorporated navy into my color scheme, but not suggesting you do that – I think it will look great as is.

FWIW, here’s the crappy chairs my venue provides (and the super short linens… ugh). I’m jealous of your chairs. I think everyone would agree ours are pretty fug, and I’m obsessive about detail, so we are having an outside vendor bring in chiavaris and floor length linens, it totally changes the look of the room (see after picture – and we’re also doing extensive pipe and drape around the walls).

But seriously, those blue chairs are beautiful as-is!! I’d just keep the linens light.

We were lucky as our venue had nice leather chairs.

I think as long as you work with them your chairs will look great.  They are a really nice chair.

@laurelewrigley:  I know…right!  It did help that this was a bistro and lounge in the hotel…so it had to be pretty to begin with.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

@mmm_jacklyn:  LOL!!!! if those were the chairs in my venue I would probably have a 5 year old’s tea party themed wedding.

I actually was very picky about my venue and picked one that already had the chiavaris because I hate chair covers

We have the older style banquet chairs(the round top kind), in dark navy and chrome…our colors are red and black and white LOL…

So, we’ve been debating on what to do as well…

I’m pretty sure that a lot of venues have ugly chairs on purpose so that they can upcharge you.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ours come with forest green vinyl chairs.  I really didn’t mind them, and never cared as a guest what my butt was on, but Fiance loathed them.  They charge $4/chair for chiavari, and $6/chair for a cover.  No outside linens allowed ๐Ÿ˜‰
