I never had any nausea or morning sickness, and I kept waiting for it to start in my first trimester- it never did! I had a few aversions later in the first trimester, but I never had and still don’t have strong cravings or a heightened sense of smell or taste. I too worried a lot as everything I was reading kept saying morning sickness is an indicator of a healthy pregnancy. To be honest, I really resent it being put that way as it creates a lot of un needed anxiety in us lucky ones who do not experience this. It implies we are not having a healthy pregnancy when this is not necessarily the case! My mum never had nausea or morning sickness with me either, so I don’t think the presence or absence of morning sickness says anything about the health of your pregnancy or baby 🙂

I don’t know why anyone says that nausea is a sign of a healthy pregnancy… the only one I had nausea with was a miscarriage.

greaselightning: consider yourself lucky. But my MS and fatigue didn’t set in until 8 weeks. Lasted until 16/17weeks

I thought I was 6 weeks, until I went to the doctor and found out I was 9. I’ve got no symptoms besides the fatigue and food aversions. Baby has a nice, strong heartbeat.

I had no symptoms really either, except for some food aversions aroun the 9+ week mark. Sometimes it would make me antsy, but I definitely learned it has nothing to do with whether your pregnancy is healthy. I had high HCG and progesterone levels and I still felt fine. Also, 6 weeks is early for the classic symptoms for a lot of people anyway. That nausea could come rolling in in the next few weeks too!

It’s very reassuring to hear people say that 6 weeks is still early. I thought I *should* be feeling some nausea by now for sure. I don’t know why it’s easier to believe that something is wrong over something being right… my husband told me to stop worrying and “just be.” Which I’m really trying to do.

I could have written your post and now I’m 29 weeks! mu only major sympt were terrible acne and bloating. Really no cravings, aversions, nausea, never vomited. Even now I’m not having the typical third trimester symptoms. It is hard tho as you want those symptoms tell you everything is ok. Getting a home Doppler kept me sane!

I felt great up until 9 weeks. Once I hit 9 weeks the nausea, vomiting and food adversions kicked in. I’m 23 weeks now and have went 2 days without getting sick which is a new record for me. I still have a very small appetite and trouble eating because there are sooooo many foods that I can’t stand now. Hopefully you stay symptom free!

i didn’t have nausea until 7 weeks and it lasted until 10 weeks, while i say i had nausea, smells effected me and i felt nauseaous, but i only threw up a handful of times. i also only had a little breast tenderness and bloat from progesterone and estrogen meds from my IVF cycle meds. but overall i felt pretty good. i’m 17w2d and have really had a easy pregnancy so far.
i was worried all the time between RE then OB appointments hoping the baby was still growing and ok. and everything so far has been.
don’t worry about the lack of symptoms. i will say you are still early, and anything could happen at any time.

greaselightning: My first pregnancy I was similar, no nausea (except for the occasional food aversion). Second pregnancy now and I feel like I’m going to throw up constantly!

I am almost 10 weeks and have had very few symptoms. No real nausea or exhaustion or bloating. Boobs were sore at first but now they feel fine (even though they’re still huge!) my only two symptoms were cramps every morning and serious hunger! I see it as a blessing. I was so terrified of morning sickness, this has been a real answer to prayer! Plus you’re also still really early, you may find symptoms come at a different time than other people but that you get the classic ones. It’s all just a crapshoot, focus on what you DO feel and take some tests every few days till you’re more reassured 🙂

My first pregnancy was a breeze (minus some migraines and a slightly weakstomach). I wasn’t sick, no nausea, no food a versions, regular energy. And I have a very healthy toddler now. ☺ This second one has been very different! Nausea set in around 5 weeks and lasted about 3 weeks, absolutely exhausted, food aversions, cravings and I have the weakest stomach! I’m 8w2d now with my second.
