Most people where I live gift wedding jewelry for their Bridesmaids gfits. I want to do a little something different (not to mention I suck at picking out jewelry and thats why I rarely wear it myself).
I have been brainstorming some ideas since I’m getting married in exactly 4 months. I am a semi-professional photographer and I’ve always loved the architectural alpahbet framed pictures. Would you be excited if you were my bridesmaid and got one as your gift?
My budget for gifts is very small per person considering I have 22 people to buy for (including the guys).
If you have any ideas for both bridesmaids and groomsmen… please help me out!!

- Wedding: September 2011 - Mackinaw Valley Vineyard; Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts
I don’t have any ideas for you, but I thought I would add that I would love an architectural alphabet framed picture. I would be more likely to use a picture though that says something like “love” or ‘friends’ instead of my name.

I think those pictures are really cute if you can find ones who’s words fit/make sense for your wedding party.
But for ideas, here’s what we got my girls:
And here’s what we got his guys:

Just think of what you might like to receive and something you would actually use, it doesnt have to scream “bridesmaid” I got them designer purses, not bags but actual wallet size purses that are usually about $60 each but we got them on sale.

my cousin got us these make up/travel bags from pottery barn and there were two different sizes, both were monogramed and a small silver mongramed mirror. It is the ONLY Bridesmaid or Best Man gift I have used over and over again. (and i hate monogramed bags!)
Ours were solid, but this is similar.

I got our ladies each an 18′ string of 6mm pearls. It’s the most versatile length/size of necklace and a Southern staple. Only two of them chose to wear the necklace during the ceremony.

@peacockchris: I got those same ones.
I also got them sleeping masks, a small clutch for each, a note caddy, and flip flops. oh and I put it all in a beach bag for each.
We live in Miami, FL so all this is stuff I know the girls will use.
I hope this helps. 🙂

I got my bridesmaids some nice raw silk shawls to keep their arms warm (and to match their shoes). I also got each of them a different salt & pepper shaker set from Jonathan Adler, each of which seemed to match their unique personality or sense of style:

Here’s what I did for my girls:
– Bag from Bath and Body Works – could be used for gym, groceries, etc. (I got each girl a different color)
– Hanger with initial on it, for dress photos
– Ivory pashmina for the wedding and beyond 🙂
– Love Letters of Great Men poetry book
Not super involved, but some nice things for them 🙂

You could do Starbucks gift cards or Amazon gift cards so that they can get anything they want. I considered getting each of them a gift card to somewhere that meant something to us or reminded me of them (Barnes and Noble for a teacher friend, a little artsy knick-knack shop for another friend that we used to browse, etc).
The trouble with gift cards is they know exactly how much $ you spent. You didn’t say what your budget is though….
I really do like the alphabet/name gift you described. I would personally like that! Plus it would be very inexpensive to do if you take the photos yourself…my cousin did that, too and they look awesome!

i had my cousin crochet clutches for them to hold instead of flowers, so thats part of their gift….i’m also giving them a bottle of wine with a wine tag that i made for the wedding as a keepsake and a monogramed wine glass with their first initial on it….

I plan on getting my girls an Ulta (kind of like Sephora) gift card so they can all buy makeup or beauty products and probably a make up bag to suit their own unique styles. I am a big believer on buying gifts that can be used after the wedding, although I think the hangers and stuff like that are cute… I can just see them being put into the closet after the wedding and never to be seen again.
