(Closed) No Dancing & Cocktail-Style Reception: Activities?

I think having all these activities takes away from making it an elegant coctail party type of celebration.  I definitely think you need to have chairs for everyone, especially since people often leave a purse or other personal item at their chair.  Then the next person looking to sit down feels like they are “taking” someone elses.

I agree about the chairs. I think there really need to be enough for everyone to sit down, have somewhere to put their stuff, etc.

Just wanted to add that not having enough seats will enforce less mingling.  People won’t want to get up, because they don’t want to loose their seat.
