Aw, that really sucks. 🙁

Will they allow sparklers? I really want a sparkler send-off.

That stinks… I agree that sparklers are another option, but I worry about safety if people have been drinking.

I want sparklers too. That would be so fun! I think full on fireworks would be challenging.

Sparklers are a great alternative!  Often, the permits for a fireworks display are prohibitively expensive.

Aww, I am sorry to hear that!  I guess I am very spoiled living in Central FL and I see fireworks so much that I never thought of having them at our wedding (in fact, we did see fireworks the night of our wedding because we went to stay at a Disney Resort that night) but just think of the bright side – you’re saving a little money by not having them (a small display often runs $3k+, in addition to permit/fire dept fees) so you can take that amount to add something fun to your reception!  How about an upgrade on something – like a live band instead of a DJ…or having both!

This may not be what you are looking for at all, and certainly this is not nearly as cool as fireworks or sparklers, but when I read your post I thought of fiberoptic flashlights.  I remembered them from the circus when I was little.  Here is a link to what I am talking about.  They might look neat if you can’t use sparklers.

What about fireworks at the rehearsal dinner? Or while you are on your honeymoon? Something maybe you don’t have to put on yourself, but that you can take him to as a surprise?
