My skin is persnickety enough that I’ll likely have to wear foundation.  I do know of one bride who did not, however: http://pics.livejournal.com/___io___/pic/00077s49

She reportedly wore only CoverGirl concealer and Coty powder on her face.  Needless to say, she looked awesome.

I wouldn’t go make up free, but I might go with a tinted lotion if I were opposed to full foundation. Have you tried a light coverage foundation, though? Some are really nice.

I’m trying to figure this out just now! The only time I wore foundation was in high school plays. I’m pretty clueless about makeup in general.

not sure if you can see the threads on Offbeat Bride if you aren’t a tribe member, but there was a big long thread on this exact topic recently: Not wearing foundation on wedding day

I hate, hate, hate foundation but I recently tried mineral powder (L”oreal) and what a diffrence! Nice and light, does not cake, provides a bit of coverage with regard to evening out skin tone and hiding any shine…so thats what I am using. Well worth the 9 dollars to give it a try.

I think most photographers would recommend a little something on your skin though, because otherwise it tends to translate very poorly on film.

I think you should wear whatever you feel the most beautiful with! If you are not wearing it because of Fiance only, though, I would compromise with a tinted lotion (he’ll never notice! Wink)

I never wear foundation, and I doubt I will on my wedding day, but that’s because my skin is pretty “well-behaved” and I love my freckles and hate how most foundations cover them up.  Do what works for you 🙂

@ILoveMicheal:  i did not wear foundation on my wedding day. i don’t wear it regularly, so why put on mask just because it’s my wedding?

I used a Mac face powder just to get rid of any sort of shine for pictures, and i absolutely love my photos!

@ILoveMicheal:  I never wear foundation and was having an amazingly good skin day so my mua just did a little powder.

I think that a good foundation is good to use because you will be photographed all day and also because of the video. Even if you apply it lightly it will make a big difference. You cant have a doover wedding and refilm if you dont like it so better be safe and wear a good foundation then to hate it after.

im a makeup artist so I always suggest less is more but with pro cameras it really helps.

Goodness if I had good skin and could get away with just powder that would be a dream come true. I think if you have the skin flaunt it, I just wish I had the skin :/

@Baccara:  oh wow, she’s gorgeous!!

I am gonna wear foundation…and a whole lot of it lol But that is because I want to look flawless on my wedding day and my skin isn’t the best out there. But if you don’t feel the need for it and don’t want to then don’t!

I’m seriously debating this.  I never wear it and Fiance also hates it.  But I wore it at my engagement party and as uncomfortable as it was, my skin really looked flawless in the pictures…
