I am EXTREMELY excited about my destination wedding with NO GUESTS. Luckily we’re both the youngest of four, and our parents don’t really care what we do as long as we’re happy.
We’re going to go to Hawaii, to the island of Kaua’i, and rent this house:
Can you believe how private and romantic this is?????
The house is really nice:
The best part is the house is 150 yards from “Secret Beach”. This is a beach that is only accessible to the public via an unmarked, unpaved road and then a 15 minute downhill hike that is somewhat tricky. And there are no facilities. Apparently it is often empty and is one of the most private beaches in Hawaii. It’ll be a lot easier for us to get to it because we are staying in this house and the owner has carved out a path with steps down the hill to the beach.
Check it out!!! we’re going to get married on this beach!
For our ceremony, we’re gonna to be married by a Kumu Hula. I googled her name and found these images of her marrying another couple with the same kind of Hawaiian ceremony we’ve chosen.
How beautiful and amazing does that look?
I’M SO EXCITED, I WANT TO GO NOW!!!!!!!!
And, we’re having a party in September 2011 with all our friends and family to celebrate.
Anyone else doing a wedding with no guests? A planned elopement? Tell me about it!

I kind of wish I’d done this. Oh, well.

Sounds awesome.. as opposed to spending your money on liquor and food and guests, you are spending it on an amazing vacation.
I’m officially jealous.

Aw I think that’s sweet. My Fiance and I are thinking about getting married in the courthouse a few months before the big ceremony and not telling anyone….but, that’s not the same…..at ALL. I love your idea. I think it’s amazing 🙂

See, I am lucky. Our family owns a restaurant, so when I have that party down the road for family….all the food and booze is DRASTICALLY cheaper. so, I can do this and still have money left for a party. Not a fancy party, with fancy linens and fancy flowers or anything, but enough $ to throw a tent on the lawn, get some tables, and invite everyone over for a good old fashioned MD crab feast wedding celebration…hopefully with a band!

We had one guest. My son. I think it’s a wonderful idea and I love the fact how it is so luxe and so romantic and will have so much meaning!
Oh well our photographer was another guest.
We had a fabulous post-wedding dinner and ate key lime pie!
Btw I love all of your plans! Go for it! We also had our reception one week later back in ATL with all our friends and family…but still an intimate reception.

We’re doing the same thing! Except we’re going to Savannah Georgia! We were going to pay to have my parents and Jim’s brother and sister go, but for reasons beyond our control, it’s only going to be the two of us. And honestly, we LOVE the idea that’s it’s just going to be two of us!!
