Hello bees!
I am not planning on having a hair trial. I really just don’t want to spend the extra dough. I am really going for a simple look anyway and don’t really feel the need but am kind of nervous it will be a huge disaster if I don’t…
Those that did not have a hair trial… were you satisfied with how your hair turned out? Looking back, should you have done a trial?
Any of you out there care to share a picture of your hair the day of?

@yippee62913: Didn’t do any of that…did my own hair and makeup and I was really happy with it all.

I did have a hair trial BUT the gal that did it ended up not being my stylist the day of because she was out of town. They didn’t give me any notice or offer another trial with a stylist that could be mine the day off.
SO, in the end, I don’t think I really got a hair trial, but my hair turned out amazing, and I loved it. Even more from the actual stylist rather than the gal who did my trial.

you’ll be fine! I actually wish I hadn’t done a trial – my hair looked better at the trial than at our wedding. I think sometimes, the stylists get too into replicating the trial and less into working with what the hair is doing that day!

A couple things – If you choose not to do one I would just make sure that you truly know what you want. If you’re on the fence about it or are choosing a hair style you have never had before, I would suggest getting a trial. You never know how it’s going to look on your or feel. The last thing you want is to hate your hair and regret not spending the extra $50 (and lets be honest, int eh grand scheme of things that’s not too much). those pictures last forever.
Also if you have any sort of hair issues, for example, I get head aches when I have my hair up too long – get a hair trial.
My hair trial was the best thing I ever did. I ended up actually chopping off all my hair after it because I couldn’t handle all that hair piled on my head. It hurt too much. In the end I still acheived the desired look I had in the beginning, but was so much more confortable. Without the hair trial I would have never done that and would have been in pain all day.

I think you’ll be fine! I’m also quite laid back, and I can’t see myself paying for a hair trial; I think if you get too caught up in the details, you can loose focus on what really matters! In the end, it’s going to be an amazing day because you’re marrying the love of your life 🙂 Just my outlook. If you think that your hair is a make-it-or-break-it detail for the day, then maybe you need it, but it sounds like you’re more the type of person who goes with the flow.

Same here – doing my own hair. I am having a beach wedding so going for loose, flowy waves I can totally do myself. I find professional wedding hair to be a bit prom-y and stiff for my taste

I “winged it.” I went to my regular stylist with the only requirements that it be an updo and that hair flower somehow figure into the picture. I was very pleased with the result!
