Sadly, my fiance and I are very close in height – he is JUST taller than I am. So, I don’t get to choose “dream” wedding shoes that are sky high and covered in glitter! Has anyone found any flat/low heeled shoes that would go with my dress? I apologise for the size of the photo!
I know I count on my bees to help me out on this one! xx

@BabyBrain: Have you thought about getting the Louboutin “Love” flats? I think some pointed toe flats might also mimic the look of a heel, at least from the front. When you take bridal pictures, you could sit down, lift the front of your skirt, and lift your heels up slightly so that it looks like you’re wearing heels. Or in your shoe portrait, you could stack them on top of something to make them look like heels. A little trompe l’oeil, if you will:
Not flats, but you could easily do this same pose with flats and make them look like heels:
The Louboutin Loves, stacked in an elegant way:
The “Pigalove” flats, which are the dressier version:

I’m in the SAME situation. My Fiance is ever-so-slightly taller than me… so there’s no way I’m wearing 4″ heels, haha. I’m not sure what’s available for you there in Australia. Have you tried searching online? I’m going on any and every online shoe store, and designer websites, to try and find a pair of nice flats.

@somethingaquamarine: you, my dear, are a true genius! I LOVE the idea of pointy toe shoes, but had never thought of making them look like heels for photos!!!!! Clever thing you are!!! hehe. I really love that first photo, I think that they would look lovely with my dress!!!
@LadyMoriarty: Together, we can find the perfect flats!!!! haha. I didn’t even realise how badly I wanted to wear heels until I couldn’t!

Ugh I’m jealous of you not having to wear heels – I’m 11 inches shorter than my Darling Husband and hate heels, would love to have been able to wear flats the whole wedding!

@BabyBrain: I had the same problem, Darling Husband being just taller than I am. But I don’t usually wear heels anyway so it wasnt a big deal to me. I wore sandals for our August wedding. Its hard to find flat super dressy wedding looking shoes!
Here are the sandals that I wore: (sorry about the HUGE pic!)
Carlos by Carlos Santana (and paid approx $50 for them)

@BabyBrain: I’m in the same boat! My Fiance is only 4 inches taller than me and since we’re having an outdoor wedding, flats are probably the best option. What are your wedding colors? I have been searching high and low for cute flats, so here are some of the ones I love…
The sparkly J.Crew flats are my personal fave right now. My accent colors will be coral, blush, and pale lavender so disregard these if your color scheme is COMPLETELY different than mine!

Posting to remind myself to look back at this thread. I’ll be wearing flats too since Fiance and I are the same height.

Firstly, gahhh i love your dress! One of the best i have seen on the bee.
I am 169cm tall and fiance is 173cm. I had only 4cm to play with! I searched all over Sydney and Melbourne for a gorgeous pair of flats and could not find anything i liked.
I settled on designing a low heel with shoes of pray. (But you can also design flats). The heel is 1.5inches or 3.8cm. Perfect! Fiances shoes have a heel of about 2cm so he will be 2.2.cm taller than me on the day. Phew!
I designed 2 pairs as im having 2 ceremonies (looonnnggg story).
These were $199 each. I’m expecting mine to be delivered on May 31st.
Before designing my shoes. I had purchased these from Forever New for $39.95. They weren’t formal enough for my venue/dress so i’m wearing them for my bridal shower.
