Lake Tahoe would make for a really relaxing and romantic mini-moon if that would be an option for even a few weeks after.

We’re seriously considering holding off on our “real honeymoon” until our 1 year anniversary.. we wanted to be able to go somewhere in the carribbean for 7-8 days, and because we have to fly to our wedding location as well, money will be kind of tight around the wedding.

We will probably go to a family friends lake house in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland for 4 days by ourselves to relax and unwind right after the wedding before flying back to Texas. That will leave a whole year for us to save up for our “honeymoon” during our 1st anniversary!

@CARA1978:  Honeymoon doesn’t mean a 2 week vacation to some exotic place…

You can have MANY honeymoons throughout the year…

We didn’t have a honeymoon right after the wedding because we moved to another country… So far we have visited 4 cities/destination places in this country which haven’t made a hole in our pockets.

I recommend just having near by trips you can drive to… or stay 1 night a month o every 2 months on a hotel to unwind…

Plus.. you can do like me… when people ask where we went to our honeymooon or why we didn’t do one I simply say “every day is a honeymoon with him” 🙂 cheesy I know…

When my hubby and I got married it was during his family reunion.   He doesn’t have a large family and just so happen that his family reunion was going to be hosted in our city.   We were already planning to just doing a courthouse ceremony because we both DID NOT want a big wedding.   Anywho, our wedding was planned in 6 weeks. It was pretty much DIY . (Thank goodness I’m crafty).  I could only afford to take 2 Days off (Fri and the wedding was Sat and returned back to work on Monday. )

We were planning to do a honeymoon on our 1 year anniversary, but hubby was diagnosed with cancer just months after we were married.   This summer will be 3 years that we’ve been married and still no honeymoon. But I’m just thankful for everyday that I have him in my life.

Oh. DH is 7 months cancer Free!

@AngelBFrank:  That’s excellent news! Congratulations!

I’m not having a honeymoon. We will be skint broke after the wedding and entertaining with all the international guests. Maybe we’ll be able to get on a train and go to a village for a night or something like that. 😀

@CARA1978:  That’s great you at least got one night away! We didn’t do a honeymoon- had Destination Wedding Maui wedding so it was like vacation, honeymoon and wedding in one. We had a big condo and our toddler and 5 family members stayed with us, so not a traditional honeymoon! A separate honeymoon would have been too much time and money right after the wedding.

@CARA1978:  We had no plans of taking a Honeymoon, we are going to buy a house if not before the wedding definatly right after. But my Fiance sister is engaged and also planning a wedding this year, she just told the family she is having a destination wedding exactly 1 month after our wedding and my Fiance and I are both standing up in their wedding. So I guess we can consider this our Honeymoon, although we are not going to have any time off for it really 🙁 we will probably only go for 3-4 days ..
