Sometimes it can be depressing having to go up a size, but really all brands are different and cut differently so you shouldn’t take it so hard. I’ve read that you can gain up to 7lbs in water weight before your period so I don’t even bother weighing myself around that time. 118lbs is still tiny. I’m 27 and 4’10”. If I go over 100lbs it is depressing to me even though I know that sounds completely absurd! Don’t worry – its probably just temporary water retention.

@Mrsgurzakovic:  Go to Old Navy, just for shits and giggles I tried on some jeans and I grabbed a 4, which is about my normal size (I am shorter but about the same weight) and they were HUGE on me!!!! I finally to a size 0… and they freaking fit!!! couldnt believe my eyes (I am NOT a size zero) but it made me feel damn good about myself haha πŸ˜‰ BUT I have gone to stores and been a size 9!! Sizing doesnt make sense so thats why I buy ones with the waist measured instead… Or hollister jeans, they are amazing cute and fit SO well (go try on a size 5 there, there jeans are nice and plain but comfy also) πŸ™‚

@Roxykitten – I agree with your suggestion! Old Navy is definitely guilty of vanity sizing, so smart of them πŸ™‚ Now if only wedding dress designers picked up on this idea…

@adoc86:  Hey it made me feel good… I almost bought the jeans JUST to have a size zero in my closet (but the pockets made my ass look huge haha)!!! So smart is right πŸ™‚

I find that sizing can be so wacky now a days, that I just buy whatever fits, whether its a 0 or 6. I’m 5 feet tall and about 110 lbs. Most of my “chub” I carry in my upper thighs, so pants that fit well can be hard to find. I’ve been dieting and exercising for a couple months and have lost inches everywhere…except the upper legs. I have small hips, but bigger thighs which makes the pants too tight around my thighs and too big around the hips, or vice versa.

Yoga pants have become my new best friend until I can work off some of the excess fat in my thighs.

I wouldn’t worry too much… though I say this and once a month my Darling Husband has to talk me off of a ledge because I think I am fat!

Just so you know, I am 32 and 5 or 6 years ago my periods starting getting a little longer and I started getting a lot more blaoted before. As, in all my clothes are uncomfortable for a few days.

The good thing is that after my period, I am SUPER skinny and my tummy is flat!

I know a few of my girlfriends have mentioned this too, so dont worry. It could just be bloating.

And another store that will make you feel SUPER thin is White House Black Market… I am a size 00 there.

As a much larger bee (size 10-12), I envy your small size! But I know I would look sickly if I was a size 4 or even 6.

As depressing as clothing sizes can be for women, the most important thing is how things fit on you. No one is going to see the size labels on your clothes but you. Try to get the numbers out of your head, find clothes that fit well, and rock your body!

I fluctuate quite a bit myself, and literally have separate piles of jeans – for my “smaller” and my “bigger” days! No joke. πŸ˜› Don’t worry, it happens to all of us!

I am 19 and almost 3 years ago I had a very serious car wreck that got me down to around 80lbs. But before that, I couldnt get over 112 lbs. I am now around 125 – 130 and sometimes I feel good and others I feel like a whale. I know I feel healthier at the higher weight, but sometimes I dont feel great about myself. Also, I am 5’6”
