I had my two brothers and SIL stand up for me, so I had no Maid/Matron of Honor. I honestly don’t even know what a Maid/Matron of Honor really does, so I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. I didn’t have a shower and my girlfriends collectively planned my bachlorette weekend, so I didn’t think one was necessary.

I have two MOHs! They are both equally as close to me and I value their friendship so much that I wanted both of them to be honoured that day.  It’s worked out PERFECTLY for us.  I also have two other bridesmaids.

Oh – and I should mention that they have done an amazing job working together to help me out with so many things from showers, bachelorette, etc.  It works well because one girl does not feel solely responsible for organizing all of the wedding events.  They can share responsibilities which makes it easier on both of them.  Love my MOHs!

That’s exactly what I did. Hubs couldn’t pick a Bridesmaid or Best Man , so I didn’t have a Maid/Matron of Honor. My bff and my sister did most of the work, so my sister stood next to her, then my bff, then my other 2 BMs

Someone needs to be the witness though and sign. That’s the real distinction the Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man get….

Traditionally, the Maid/Matron of Honor is also “responsible” for hosting a bridal shower and planning a bachelorette, among a number of other things.  Obviously that’s not always the case, but that is one of her designated duties.

I didn’t have a Maid/Matron of Honor – just 4 bridesmaids. My aunt stood next to me, but the girls did everything together.
