I’ve heard of “couples showers” for a baby but never a bridal shower.. Usually it is more of a girl thing unless thats what the bride wants like if she doesn’t have that many female friends or family. I think if that is not what your wanting to just let them know.

Graciously tell them that you envisioned the shower as an all female event.  Mom can still make her pulled pork.

Keep in mind that while it is nice when bridesmaids and others throw bridal showers, it is by no means required by bridal parties.

For a cousin’s wedding the ladies had a small shower at a house, while theneen went golfing. We had our girl time, and then had a big dinner altogether… That might work in your case?
