We’re getting married at a historic hotel in a small town in Pa, and I just found out NOW at 11:00 and night on a Saturday that there are no more rooma available and I haven’t set my block up yet.
All of both of our families are 2 hours away from this place.
I didn’t set up the block yet b/c my “Blocking” paper says do it three months prior to the wedding.. but our date IS a holiday weekend. I’m so upset.
I immediately called other places, but the closest hotel is about 15 minutes away (not far, I know, but I don’t want to make everyone drive more cause I messed up!). The other places still had rooms available so I know it’ll work out, but it was so perfect to have everyone be able to stay AT the venue.
ugh I could scream! This is my first wedding related mental health crisis

That’s a shame, but atleast you have a close alternative. If the budget allowed, you could provide transportation to your venue if it really bothers you. Holidays and small towns just don’t mix sometimes.

Maybe the nearby hotels have a shuttle service? I went to a wedding this summer where we all parked at the hotel we were staying at, and they had an airport shuttle that took us to and from the venue.
That’s really frustrating. You’d think they’d tell you to do a block when you booked your wedding! It will all work out in the end, don’t stress out too much.

I really don’t think 15 minutes away is bad. The block that I had for my wedding was a 10-15 minute drive away from the location and people stayed at different hotels in different locations, some further away than that.

Aw that stinks, but it’s totally not worth having a meltdown over! It’s a relatively small thing in the scheme of things. 15 minutes isn’t bad at all!
