We just went to lock up the diamond in a safety deposit box. My guy didn’t feel comfortable having precious gems sitting in a closet just begging to get stolen or lost. It’s just sad cause I like looking at it…every once in a while…ok, every day. 😉 Oh well.
On another note. Starting to appreciate all the work some guys do when picking out rings in secret. I’m trying to pull pics together to send to a jeweler to get a custom piece made. It is tough. And it’s for me. I can’t imagine doing this for someone else. Kudos to all the guys out there who made this a surprise for their ladies!

i remember the night my husband proposed – he had the ring in his pocket for hours without the box – he said he was so nervous something would happen to it but the box would have given it away. safety deposit box is a great idea! especially if its a loose stone.

Ugh my man left the ring in a backpack in the car for DAYS before he proposed. I kindly told him later how stupid that was. Thankfully nothing went wrong.

@totheislnds: My Fiance did the same thing, kept the ring in his pocket sans box for hours. He said he was constantly checking to make sure it was still there. But it worked because I wasn’t sure if he had it and wasn’t sure if a proposal would happen, so it was still a surprise. 🙂

@totheislnds: My husband kept the ring in the box in his jacket pocket, he just made sure I didn’t stand on that side of him, LOL. It wasn’t a surprise, per se; he asked me to marry him sans ring and then we had it custom-made, but I only saw the preliminary computer mock-up and then he kept me in the dark about how it was coming and when it would be ready.

aw! I know it’s probably hard to not look at that amazing stone all the time, but it is in a safer place. Soon you will get to look at it every day of your life!!!
