@TeeBee25:  I don’t think it’s weird for a beach ceremony.  But I could also imagine a harp player or something similar being beautiful!

@kb7:  ooh a harp on the beach? YES! 🙂  That sounds amazing.

@TeeBee25:  I don’t think it’s weird! I think it can be totally beautiful.

“Weird” in the sense of not being totally traditional, yes. But not “weird” in a bad way. Hope that makes sense. haha

We did our processional to the tune of a meditation bell being rung. It was “weird,” but I liked it, and it really set the feel I wanted for the ceremony.

I once went to an indoor wedding with no ceremony music and it felt really awkward.  You just heard the steps of the wedding party walking in and nothing else.  But, I think no music could work at a beach because there’s already a lot of ambience with the waves and surroundings.

I don’t think it is weird for a beach wedding either. If it was a wedding indoors it would be different.

I have to ask, do you have a freind that can play guitar or anything like that?  Silence is awkward.  It just is.  None of us are truly use to silence.  Esepcially when you are with a crowd of people.  Even when asking for a moment of silence, it doesn’t last longer than 10 seconds, because people start to get fidgety.    I’m not saying it’s wrong, but I don’t think I would be comfortable.

@TeeBee25:  We do not plan to. Our ceremony is going to be very short (civil) and outside in winter, with our family surrounding us. I’m afraid having music would annoy many guests as they won’t be able to hear our vows.
