Wonderful post and could not agree more. My friend has a 4 carat ring that her Fiance paid an arm and a leg for. She doesn’t even wear it because she says it looks “too ridiculous.” She is begging him to trade it in for a 1 carat or smaller. Just goes to show you that bigger isn’t always better….

HAHAHAHAHA OMG I am crying and I’ve spit iced coffee everywhere!  I am in love with this post, it’s fabulous.  I thought of another one:

NO!!  No one but you can visibly see the difference between a .93ct stone and a 1.00ct stone…no one is judging you for not getting the full carat.

OOH and I thought of another one:

NO:  It does not mean your fiance doesn’t like you if he spends money on something for himself before, during or after your engagement ring purchase…he’s allowed to spend his money on himself from time to time.  Just like you are.

Ah, another one.

NO! “I’ve always dreamed of x carats” does not mean you’re entitled to it.  Funny, the “x” is always a whole number, like 1, 2, or 3.

Oh god. I LOVE this post. Especially since I have lurked around in here for quite a while (have not posted as my ring just got finished TODAY!!)

Some people are wayyy too insecure.

Personal FAV? “NO! it is probably not a good idea to ask your DH for an engagement ring upgrade a week after you are married.”

@MrsHoneyC:  Thank You!!! I wanted a sapphire before Princess Kate was out of diapers. And I couldn’t care less about the royal family.

@MerryWidow:  Ooh I love your 2nd one… I get so annoyed when girls are like… I’m waiting and he just bought himself __________ – Does he even want to get married??

It makes me laugh 🙂

I just want to say that I’m cosigning every single one of the NO! statements thus far and that I really truly love this thread. Kiss

@1313Mockingbird:  YOu mean its not ok to ask my DH to upgrade to a full carat in three months? Dang it! I was banking on that one! I have a .78 and I’m terrified that people will notice the difference! 😉 Kidding of course! I love this tread!

What is with the NO! about insurance fraud? Did someone actually come on here and plot insurance fraud..?

@mixtapehearts:  I *believe* it’s referring to a post in which someone wanted to switch out their diamond without telling their Fiance who presumably insured the original.

@booEXcore:  really? It’s restored my faith and made me very happy. There are some crazy funny ring pictures out there.

I just wanted to BUMP this.

Some of the threads were annoying the crap out of my perfectly small .5 with a halo white gold engagement ring…which will never be replaced because….it’s my engagement ring. And I love it because it’s perfectly dainty and my Fiance picked it out.  And because it looks better on my pudgy hand than anything else that would have been even slightly bigger.  BOOYAH.
