@Juliepants:  I was kind of put off by it. I love my original engagement diamond, and I felt like I was being attacked. Anyway, didn’t mean to hijack this. I was just trying to comment on a previous comment, lol. I DO appreciate all of the pics of steak dinner and goat and/or elephant rings in here. Too funny! ๐Ÿ™‚

@pineapplelove:  My boss’ ring fluoresces (we use uv lights to examine things on a regular basis) and she loves it. The first time she took out the equiptment she showed me and asked me if mine did (I didn’t think so but I had never really looked). It ended up that mine didn’t. Fluorescence is technically “bad” and lowers the price tag, but some people love it, and it can make a lower color stone face up whiter.

@booEXcore:  meh, if you will notice most of these members are veteran members. they have probably seen years of this stuff and predictably, at some point the themes repeat. even in the few months that i’ve been reading the boards i have seen the same questions/scenarios over and over again. at some point it is harder and harder to remember what it was like to be new to the idea of engagements/rings/weddings etc – people think of all kind of things…they just often think/talk about the same things. i think it is natural that it gets a lil tough to tolerate after a while and it’s hard to be as patient as in the past. (if i recall correctly, you are in medicine..i hope i’m not crazy…you will see something similar happen to some of your peers at some point as well)

i don’t think these ladies intend to be mean really – just changing it up a bit and putting things out there.  i imagine most of what they say is from a place of “knowing” or “wisdom.”

ps. i really enjoyed that male chicken ring! i want one too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bumping this. Because it needs to be revived today.

No, your ring IS NOT TOO SMALL FOR YOUR HAND.

Your Fiance, who spent every penny he has on it IS NOT CHEAP AND HAS NOT DEPRIVED YOU OF THE GIAGANTIC RING YOU AND YOUR MOTHER BOTH FEEL YOU DESERVE.

I’ve just seen enough new posts on this subject that I thought I’d bring back this wonderfully phrased OP.

YES! Also, since when is “cute” an insult? If anyone says my future ring is cute I’ll reply “Isn’t it though? I just LOVE it!” or something along those lines…

@booEXcore:  I agree with you. I felt “made fun of” by this. I posted about finding out what my ring is worth in an appraisal and this was referenced in the OP. Maybe it was not directly related, but I felt a little insulted, whether intentional or not.

I laughed so hard at this! After each one I read my fiance had to butt in from where he was and say “Exactly!”…mind your business man!

@booEXcore:  I don’t find this thread vicious or mean-spirited.  A lot of the posts here are referencing 2 kinds of threads: 1) topics that already have a ton of threads dedicated to them, or 2) threads where the OP is seeking validation for being unreasonable.  Many of these threads get repeated, always with the same responses.  I really can’t disagree with any of the NO’s I’ve read on here.

The topic ‘NO! NO! NOOOO! ;)’ is closed to new replies.
