but I don’t want to be an August 2014 Bride!
Nothing is set in stone yet, but SO (soon to be FI!) and I were talking about potential dates, because we’re going to look at venues on the 30th, (I’m sooooo excited!) and I’m sure that will be one of the questions they will ask us. Anyways, I know he wants to wait until he’s 30, but meanwhile I want to be married before I’m 30, only problem is I’m 5 months older :-(. I turn 30 December of 2013, and he in May 2014. I automatically assumed we’d get married asap (hence my date of 5/10/14 on here) but while we were talking he said August of 2014. I nearly had a heart attack! I’ll be 3 months away from turning 31! So it’s nothing personal about the month, it’s just frustrating that we seem to want different things lol. Did I make sense? Sorry for the rant.

I’d remind him that getting married in May vs August would be more comfortable. The weather is to hot and humid in summer, especially in NY.
When my Darling Husband and I were looking at dates he chose a day in July. He wanted to honor his mother who passed by getting married on her birthday. In order to please him, I agreed. Unfortunately when we fell in love with our venue and wanted to book but that day was already taken. His habit of procrastinating back fired on him and we took the next availablle, October 22nd. He was disappointed and I was also but he kept lagging when I suggested every Saturday for weeks that we need to make an appointment to view the space. When July 23rd 2011 came and it was super hot and humid I secretly said to myself “Thank God were not getting married today, my make up would be down my neck before I stepped on the aisle runner”.
The weather on our wedding day was absolutely perfect, warm and dry… it all worked out for the best. If you really really want to marry May 2014 I’d try to sway him by using better weather as your ally.

@Ill Be Mrs B: Thanks, I’ll try to sway him! Honestly tho even May could be hot and humid here. You never know what the weather will be like, this is the second year that we’ve had snow around Halloween, not to mention the Hurricane! The only bright side to my May date is that my Favorite Flower (Lily of the Valley) is in bloom then lol!
