We’ll be hoping for some “no” responses, as we’ll be inviting more than our “ideal number.”

I haven’t sent out invites yet, just the STD’s, but my mom has me so worried, she is having a “moment” haha.  Our facility holds 240 and we invited 270, figuring in that its out of town for everyone by at least 3 hours and its a holiday weekend (Labor Day).  My mom is convinced we are screwed though because such a big portion of our guest list is family (whom she believes are definite yes’s)…….needless to say, now Im stressing we over-invited and will be out of table space AND budget.

All of our guests are out of town (minimum 3 hour drive) and so far we have 114 yes’s out of 161. Deadline is next week but a lot more people said yes than we expected. We could end up with more than we thought.

Our list is about 325, venue max is 300 and I’d ideally like no more than 275 (yes we have to hit a minimum but I also don’t want to be a sardine in the room!) My Future Mother-In-Law insists she knows who will be there from her family and will call with 2 weeks before to double check so we don’t end up paying for a meal if they don’t show. Should be interesting!

@oakster You’re welcome. I was surprised a little by the higher “no” rate, but in the end, it’s left us with a more intimate group of people, so we’ll be able to mingle more, save money on cake servings and centerpieces and food, etc. 🙂 I hope you get the number you want!
