Did she have a baby shower? Or will she be having  “sip & see”?

Usually people buy for the event.

@heathaah: When my cousin had her baby shower people literally waited until the last minute. So hang in there, and check at the end of the week!

I usually shop the day before or day of a shower. I know I’ve run into a lot of problems (particularly with baby showers) where for whatever reason the people in the store don’t know how/can’t be bothered to take stuff off the registry. Pretty silly for a place like Babies R Us if you ask me, but it seems to happen to me a lot…

I know with Moose people didn’t really buy anything until right before the shower at work. As for my friend/family shower, I think people waited on that too, but, since it never happened, I don’t really know. As for me, I always bought stuff really close to the shower. With 40 people, I’m sure it’ll be wonderful and she’ll get lots of stuff.

When I had my bridal shower, people waited until the last minute to buy off the resgistry.  Maybe it’s the same way with baby showers?

I typically don’t buy shower presents until the week of the shower, so there’s still time. I wouldn’t worry yet.

@heathaah: I’m sure people are waiting until last minute to buy. Or they are buying things elsewhere (not on the registry).

Sorry missed that you had stated when the shower was in your OP.

Did she register at a place like BabiesRUs or Target where people generally can just stop by one the day before/day of? Also, a lot of people give giftcards to the place where moms register (I think due to some items size). And yes, some people buy things that are not on the registry!

I wouldn’t worry too much yet…

good luck 🙂 I’m a total registry stalker as well…I’m 110% guilty!

i too usually wait until the day before a baby shower to shop….i will also admit that i don’t usually buy from registries either….most of the baby showers i’ve been to, the registries are at babies r us and i’m sorry but some of the things are too expensive there for me….i use the registry as a guide to what the mom-to-be likes and wants and then shop elsewhere for stuff….but that is just me….

@heathaah: I did my friend’s shower. Folks started buying off her registry 3 days or so before. Many of them bought before then too so she had a few gifts to open on that day (Amazon, so it had to be shipped) majority came after the shower though.

My mother stalked my bridal shower registry and was panicing because things were not being bought off of my registry. Literally the day before and the morning of stuff started flying off. I’m sure it’s the same for baby showers.

I’ve hosted 2 bridal showers and for both showers, no gifts were bought off the registry until about 3 days before, the most purchased the day prior to the shower. So I honestly wouldn’t worry about it, people will buy gifts from the registry (and some wont), I guarantee you will see it pick up as the weekend gets closer.

I am also a last minute shopper. I wouldn’t worry!
