Tell them u will do it yourself! I cant believe they said that. I can understand not wanting to give a speech but not plan a party? Thats not nice. Can you ask your mom? I did.

are you expecting them to host parties and showers? not all moh’s need to say a speech.  why don’t you split the duties between all of your bm’s?

my son was my man of honour and he gave a great speech and he was also our mc.  my girlfriends (not in the wedding party) hosted my bachelorette/shower.

I know we all want our wedding parties to be our nearest and dearest, and that is what you are trying to do. The Maid/Matron of Honor doesn’t need to do a speech and she doesn’t need to throw youAndy parties. She will hold your floweres, your fi’s ring, and sign the marriage license. Easy peasy!

@futuremrsfitz18:  agreed. I would rather have my nearest and dearest up there with me than a party or a speech!

I told my Maid/Matron of Honor and best man…no speeches!! jeeze i hate them.

Instead, at the wedding, anyone who wanted to talk could just tell US what they wanted.

As for the parties, I booked a hotel for a weekend.  I told my moh I wanted the girls to come. I paid for the nice hotel because I wanted to do something nice with my girls.  They treated me like gold the whole weekend, and they felt special that I wasn’t just trying to add to their “to do list”.  Just an idea.
