So far, we’ve only received RSVP’s for those who plan to attend- sent out 60 or so, received 7 or 8.  FI’s parents, who live at our venue Wink, have not RSVP’d yet, but his dad, who is so sweet, said, “I expect we’ll show up,” and then hugged me and kissed the top of my head.

@Ms.Sugarsnap:    Right now I’m with you, but I expect that to change.

We sent out roughly 85 invites, and so far I’ve gotten 23 responses. There have been 2 declines – 1 that we knew and it was a courtesy invite, one by a friend of Mother-In-Law that she insisted be invited –  so we’re not upset in the slightest.

Given the 23 responses we have so far, we have 35 people attending. A lot of our friends are super excited about the wedding, but single, so it’s a one-by-one battle.

We’re hoping to come out roughly 100 people overall, between 95- 110. We invited 143, but many are out of town.

We invited 97 people total.  So far we are at 41 accepted and 9 declines.  We hope not too many more people decline.  Our price per plate goes up if we have less than 75 total people.  🙁

We over invited. We invited 192 and can have 150 without paying more per person. As of the week of our due date we had only gotten 10 declines I started freaking out. Then the day of the rsvp date we were stipl missing a ton of reaponses so I tracked them down either by facebok, email or having Future Mother-In-Law call them. Of course they were all no’s! I was so frustrated that they couldnt stick a self addressed stamped envelope in the mail to tell me they werent coming when I was thinking we would have to come out of pocket and pay for the extra guests. Could have saved me a lot of stress. But thats life I guess. We are at exactly 150 now if everyonewho rsvpd makes it.

We invited 60 and have 42 yeses and 2 who haven’t replied. (Of course, 5 of those attending are my cousins who weren’t originally invited and 2 are my friend and his date we invited when we realized they could make it from out of town — so several ‘nos’ were covered by new guests; our original list was just over 50.)

I’ve kind of been an RSVP bear. I just don’t want anyone to miss out because of high hotel or plane ticket prices!

Not only did I receive a decline today, but I got one from a nameless person. We had meant to # the RSVPs but totally forgot. Who forgets to put their name on their rsvp?

@Ennie:  I called friend from high school, since she didn’t RSVP on time. She says “Of course I’ll go! Just try to call me that week or else I’ll forget” O_o

@MrsTamboril:  I’ve gotten that too! Ugh!

I’ve got what is probably an irrational fear but… does anyone else have it?  FH and I have invited a LOT of friends (60+) who have never, ever been to a wedding before. They talk about the wedding with us non-stop, many of the girls have offered to pitch in and help multiple times despite not being in my bridal party.

I gave them till April 12 to RSVP – but NONE have yet. Does this mean that none of our friends are coming, or are they being young to mid-20 somethigns who have never planned a wedding, and don’t realize the importance of an RSVP?

Little afraid no one is coming – even though we see them all on a near weekly basis, at minimum once a month.

@dragonlover:  Call or text them! Or facebook message them.

My younger friends were not so great about RSVP’ing — I had to ask every single one personally to go on our site (all RSVPs were through our wedding website) or just let me know. But as soon as I asked, each one  had an answer (and it was ‘yes’). People over 40 were much better about RSVPs, even the less tech-savvy ones.

@MrsTamboril:  Thats just so obnoxious!  I’ve had someone do that to me in the past.  Not for a wedding of course but a party all the same.  I thought “Really?  You’re that important you can’t remember that yourself?  Its also not like I’m your mother!”

we have only received one decline so far in 44 invites received, hoping for a few more, we kind of went a little over what fits in the hall thinking 10-20% decline rate but right now its like a 1% not even decline rate

I agree that it seems that the acceptances come in earlier on and in bigger bunches…our invites went out a little over 2 weeks ago…now we’re at the point they are trickling in.  only about 7 declines (and 61 acceptances!) so far.  Talking to the event coordinator at our venue, though, I gave her those numbers and she projected 120 final guest count for us…

argh, what?!  we were hoping for closer to 100 but figured in the holiday weekend and out of towners…so we’ll see.  the more the merrier (but also the more, the more $$$).
