@greenkate09:  I agree that you need to follow up ASAP.  After that issue I now have NO issues advocating for my own health.  My husband is the same way.  He recently had some gastro issues and pushed the doctors until they gave him the appropriate testing. The squeeky wheel gets the grease!

Are you have any other issues like hot flashes or mood/weight changes?

Wanted to echo the PP(s) who urged you to look into your hypothyroidism. I have subclinical hypothyroidism (elevated levels but not enough for a diagnosis) that didn’t need treatment until I wanted to TTC. I had a chemical pregnancy last cycle and there’s no way of knowing exactly why, but my OB/GYN and endocrinologist are both treating my subclinical hypothyroidism just in case because it can impair your ability to carry a pregnancy. My levels are at around 3.5 but they want to maintain it under 2.5 with medication and monthly blood tests.

Also agree with recommendations to look into PCOS. I have a very strong family history of PCOS so we are monitoring me for it in case I start to develop it in the future. It’s normal for your cycles to take a while to regulate after getting off the pill, but it’s also possible that there is a separate underlying reason. If you have access to the medical care, I agree with PP(s) about pushing for a preconception check up for the common conditions/concerns because there is a chance that it is something that won’t regulate without treatment (like PCOS).
