So my period is four days late. The last two mornings I have took test, and they are both negative. Both pink dye test and not even a squinter of a line. What’s going on? Is my body just being weird this month? Should I go to the doctor? My husband and I are NTNP.

ravenxwonder: 4 days is nothing. Are you usually exact-to-the-day regular?

ravenxwonder: Missing one period is not normally an indication to see a doctor.
Here is some information for you:
You can do the “Check Your Symptoms” on the left to see if they recommend medical attention or wait and see.

Have your periods always been super regular? I believe some women’s HCG levels are not always high enough to get a positive test right away. I personally would probably give it another week at least before calling the doctor.

I have several health problems and doctors always thought I would have a lot of trouble becoming pregnant. Which is why I find this so strange. But yes I know all it takes is one time.
My periods have been regular since I stop the depo shot 4 years ago.

Have you been doing anything to track when you ovulate? You could just be having a weird cycle and ovulated later than normal, which would push your period back as well

This happened to me and we are TTC. Six days late and that NEVER happens. It was just a weirdly long cycle, and AF eventually came. Just be patient and wait, that’s all you can do 🙁

Equine_Breeder: I think that’s what happened. Because this morning I have normal cramps. Although still no period. It was just so weird because it never happens!
Glasgowbound: no I’m not but I think I’m going to start now after this weird cycle.

ravenxwonder: my period was 10 days later then normal all negative tests until boom BFP cycle day 45! (normal 33-35 day cycles)

ravenxwonder: any update? I am in the same boat and still… no period! Tested saturday and still negative. I am 10 days late now!

Bridebee13: Same here…Today is CD 42 and my cycles are usually 30-32 days. I’ve taken two tests and both blatant BFN.
I was never super regular before BC, but BC made it super regular and it seemed to continue in the regular pattern since I came off BC in December.

Bridebee13: 6 days late I got my period. I took another test today because my period was super light and short. Must have just been a weird cycle. I’m going to start temping and tracking my ovulation better.

ravenxwonder: you can miss your period for so many reasons. i started missing them in my late 20s and my doctor said it was normal. that it could be anything. exercise or diet esp. That whole first year i kept thinking i was pregos. cramps as though you are on it is normal too.

I’ve always been super regular…until I started TTC. My period was almost 8 days late, but showed up eventually. I can’t tell you how many tests I took. I even had a blood test done, since I was having pains in my lower pelvic area.
I’m sorry. This stuff is so aggravating and confusing.

Today is CD 43, a full 11 days later than my longest ‘regular’ timeframe.
I was was actually thinking today that I would test again on the weekend and if that was still showing BFN, I was going to book an appointment with the doctor.
About half an hour ago, I noticed some brown spotting when I used the bathroom. I’m expecting AF to show up by morning 🙁
On the one hand, I’m disappointed that I’m not pregnant. On the other hand, I’m glad I FINALLY know what’s going on with my body. I bought a thermometer a few days ago and have been testing for the last few days. I guess I’ll get started for real tomorrow, assuming AF shows up.
