Because of the birth control pills I am on I never get my period (haven’t for the past two years). We use spermicide too if he finished in me, if not he pulls out hour I’m still aware accidents can happen and sometimes never getting my period makes me afraid I wouldn’t know until far along. While I don’t want a kid now, I would rather know sooner than later if anything happened! I know I’m a little overly paranoid, but how often would you tale a test just to be sure?

I’d maybe test every 3 months or so.
Personally, I wouldn’t want to be on a BC method where I never got my period for this reason but I also wouldn’t feel the need to test every month or anything.

@AeroLove: Is this BC pill the only option for you?

@Mrs.KMM: 3 months does seem like a good time to me, I’m just afraid I will seem too paranoid if I try too much haha glad to hear it isn’t too crazy 🙂
@OhBeeHive84: While never getting my period does make this aspect of it more complicated, I really like the pills I am on. Other than that there are no side effects to it and I mean, who would really RATHER have their period? Haha.. Mine were always kind of irregular, so I could never predict when it would start and it always seemed to be at the most inconvenient times. Being in a LDR, it is also easier this way because then I don’t have to worry about being on my period the few weekends I get to see him.

I don’t get my period on the pill either- I do continuous three packs before a break, all doctors say it’s very safe and normal not to get your period this way. Anyway, I am really good about taking my pill so we never use any form of backup and I never test. The chances of getting pregnant with perfect use are so so slim it’s not worth freaking out over.

@RunnerBride13: I agree that it is reliable, and generally I take it at the same time every day. I rarely miss pills, if anything it’s just a couple hours late (which Im not sure how it effects it after a couple of hours, but I cant imagine much) but lately I’ve been getting sick a lot and been off anf on antibiotics, which I have been told by the pharmacist reduces the effectiveness of the BC. This is really the only reason I’m concerned, but he always pulls out if we don’t use spermicide too. I’m just always worried I’ll be that one that somehow it gets by everything and not know until it’s really late :/

@AeroLove: Girls still get pregnant on BC so you never know. You can always buy the cheapie pregnancy tests on amazon and just do one every 6 weeks or something to be sure. Also if your really concerned just take a daily prenatal just in case. I don’t know if I would wait 3 months. I wouldn’t want to be in my 2nd trimester already without knowing. You’d probably feel pregnant sooner than that but somegirls don’t get symptoms till later on.
