I’d say do it!  haha – that might just be the non-pregnant me saying that since I can’t drink anymore.  Enjoy it now while you still can!

I got pregnant on my honeymoon, and I’m not proud of it now, but I had quite a bit to drink during that week.  Doctor said that at that early in the pregnancy (if you happen to be that .001%), that it wouldn’t affect the baby since it’s technically not feeding from you… especially in your case if you were only going to have a glass (or two).

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but after being on the pill it can sometimes take a long time to get your first period (ie, 60 days!)  It took me about 35 days after stopping the pill to get a period…and I feel like that’s pretty normal.

Whether to drink while TTC is a sensitive topic, but I have to say you will not be alone if you decide to consume alcohol in moderation while TTC.  My husband and I decided when we started TTC that I would live as close to normally as possible while TTC.  I don’t drink to excess, but I certainly have drinks during the last two wks of my cycle.

Good luck : )

I’m not sure if you’re actually asking what we think or for reassurance that you can probably drink, but I agree with @Erindesmar. It took me months to get my first period after going of the pill. I’d have gone crazy trying to live as though I “might be” pregnant, and it’d have been silly since I definitely wasn’t. We were also using the pull-out method during that time. Also, I lived normally while TTC and drank in moderation. I ended up pregnant and I’m not worried about it. I was never drunk and while yes, I know it’s a sensitive topic, I felt comfortable with it. I did stop drinking 1 week into the 2ww when I felt pretty sure I was pregnant.

“And yes, I know there’s a 99.999% chance I’m being overly cautious and paranoid”

Yes. It’s obvious from your posts that you want to have an optimal pregnancy healthwise. Please do try to relax a little though and don’t make yourself crazy trying to get everything perfect or it will be a loooooooong 10 months.

You can still have 1 glass of wine. You can drink up until you are 10 weeks and not have anything happen.

Like I said ONE glass. Thats all.

I could be wrong

Are you charting?  If you’re worried drinking at times when you think you might be pregnant, then charting is a great thing to do.  That way, you can figure out exactly when you ovulate, and you only will have to worry about not drinking during the 2 weeks between ovulation and your period.  (Can be up to 16 days for some ppl, but is rarely longer from my understanding.)  It’s possible that you haven’t even ovulated yet since coming off the pill, and in that case you are 100% fine to drink.  If I were in your situation I would probably drink a glass of wine but not overdo it just in case.  That’s just me though.  I’m actually going to a BBQ tonight were I will *not* drink, but I am 100% sure that I ovulated about 10 days ago.

I was over a week late before I got a positive test and had a few drinks because I thought for sure I wasn’t pregnant after testing negative so many times.

Don’t drive yourself nuts like I did. 🙂 I got pregnant on the first try but actually ovulated a week later than I thought, which is why the test didn’t show positive until over a week later.

Ugh, going off the pill and trying to get your cycle back to normal is the worst!   I’ve been off for 18 months now and am STILL not quite regular (sort of, within a two weeks window, but definitely not clockwork).    Seriously, if you want a glass of wine, go for it.   Most European countries advise pregnant women to drink a glass or two of red wine per week throughout their pregnancy because of the benefits of all the antioxidants and keeping blood pressure down etc.   If you are pregnant, one glass certainly won’t hurt.  Good luck!  🙂

Totally fine.  Chances are, you’re not ovulating yet, and the WD method can be pretty effective if done right.
