Long story short, I’m going to be without my usual prescription prenatals for two days. I’m traveling to my in laws’ for the weekend and forgot them at home. I’m 26 weeks. I called the local Walgreens where we’re going and they don’t have them in stock, and neither do any of the other pharmacies in the area. The pharmacist did mention possibly purchasing a bottle of OTC prenatals. I’ll call my doc in the AM as soon as thy open to see what they suggest, but what would you do? Skip the two days (tonight and tomorrow night) altogether and not stress over it, or invest in a pricey bottle of OTC prenatals for two days worth? I just talked to my mom and she said, “Well I stopped taking them because they made me constipated and you turned out just fine.” LOL!

@LoveMikey: I’d totally skip the two days. Not a big deal at ALL.

Lol you’ll be fine!! Unless you are taking extra something because maybe you are anemic etc? It’s just a multi vitamin. i promise lots of us forget to take them on a regular basis

Oh you’ll be fine! 2 days is not enough time to do any damage. Now stressing yourself out over it…. jk. 😉

I would skip it. If you are super worried about it eat extra healthy those two days. But two days shouldn’t be a big deal at all.

Can’t you buy a cheap bottle of prenatals at Walgreens? It doesn’t have to be a brand name! I’m sure that’s better than nothing. But I wouldn’t stress over it – the most important time to take prenatals is the first trimester anyway!

What would I do? Not worry about it. Eat well. Enjoy my trip.

It’s not a big deal. It’s only recently that prenatals are a thing. They’re only meant to fill gaps in an otherwise healthy diet.

Baby will be fine. Don’t worry about it.

I haven’t taken mine in almost two weeks. You’ll be fine for 2 days

I don’t think it is anything to worry about! Although if you have any flintstone vitamins around my OBGYN just told me today that 2 of those are actually equivalent to a prenatal. I had no idea! He was suggesting them in case my usual prenatals were making me feel queasy.

Considering prenatals are a relatively new concept and we as a species have survived for the last 200,000 years… You’ll be fine. Take a regular vitamin or some flintstones vitamins?

It doesn’t matter! It’s not like the vitamins instantly go through you, aborb and get transferred to the baby. Two days won’t matter . It’s all about just making sure you have overall good levels in your body, which occurs over time and not daily.

Don’t worry at all. If it makes you feel better pick up some OTC vitamins or just frolic acid but two days won’t make a difference. Think of all the women who had healthy babies before prenatals existed! Eat your veggies 🙂
