My shower is this coming Saturday. About 20 people will be attending. Currently, 4 presents have been purchased from the registry.
I know there is still time to shop – but one of the places we are registered is amazon.com. Little late to order from there now 🙁
ok, I’m done being worried about presents. Thanks for letting me mini-vent 🙂

Have many people RSVP’d? A shower is the only mandatory gift giving party, so anyone who comes will be required to buy a gift (well to be polite, not by force ;))
Many people may have gone off registry.

@Glasgowbound: My shower is this Saturday too. I’ve had 10 present purchased from the registry, and ALL of them have been delivered to my house and are from guests that ARE NOT going to the bridal shower (men, out of state family, etc.). I’m not too worried though. If I get presents, great, if I don’t, great. I’m just happy that a family friend wanted to throw me a shower. 🙂 I’ve got about 35 people coming to the shower too.
Sometimes it is nice to vent though!
(Also, keep in mind that SOMETIMES people go in on a gift together for a shower, espically with a higher price tag!)

i think 27 were invited. Those 20 are the ones who have rsvp’ed that they will attend and most have mentioned it to me in the past few days.

I had two showers. At one, every gift except for one was purchased off of our registry. At the second, barely anything was purchased off the registry — people bought off registry gifts.

Maybe people are doing a stock the bar kinda thing, gift cards to the stores or restaurants, lingerie or something else special planned.

@GamersBride: I am also fine if I don’t get gifts. But I know my FSIL who is hosting is planning to have me open presents during the shower. If only a handful of people bring gifts, that could get awkward really quickly 🙂
not sure if this makes a difference – it is a DW in Scotland. all the people invited to the shower were invited to,the wedding and most are attending. So they are laying out a lot of money to attend the wedding.

The last bridal shower I gave the bride money. Do you think your guests may to that too?

@Glasgowbound: maybe they will buy the gifts on friday or saturday.
don’t stress about it. i’m sure you will get plenty of gifts.

First off, TISK TISK on spying on your registry! That takes all the surprise out of it. Also, won’t you be happy to see all the ladies and spend time with them? Life is never about receiving…

I was a registry stalker and 95% of my gifts were bought the day before and the day of my shower. Dont worry about it!

@Glasgowbound ; I just had my shower last weekend and we also only had 20 people. We actually ended up getting a ton of money and gift cards so we were happy.
Also, someone did buy something from our amazon registry on Thursday and got it on Fri/Sat to give to me on Sunday.

I only had 2 people use the registry. The others just bought off it or gave cash.
