And it couldn’t be better!!! I’ve been working up the courage to tell him that marrying him has become my new obsession… (I have a very obsessive personality) I have an overflowing binder full of almost every small detail of the wedding he and I have not officially agreed to. I’ve been hiding it from him the last 2 weeks but last night, after a couple of small conversations brought up by him regarding marriage, I mentioned my book…
I told him marrying him has become my new obsession. That I’ve got a lot of details I want and that I would like to start working on the DIYs now. He laughed kissed me a million times and said that he was perfectly fine with that, and was happy about it. Score for me! But I did feel like a slight nut ball after and asked him “Do you think I’m crazy now?” and he laughed again and said “Of course not”.
So although I’m not oficially engaged, I’ve been given the OK to proceed with the wedding plans… How does that work? I don’t know nor do I care because it’s working and I’m psyched 😀 Smiling ear to ear all day long!!!
And btw… The only reason this worked for me is because of our relationship. My SO and I have a very very unique relationship. As does everyone else. But in our relationship this is the way we work sometimes. I’m just saying this because I don’t want someone else to follow my cookoo ways hoping they will get the same reaction… I was a bit nuts, but my SO loves that part about me 🙂

I’m so excited! He was asking about locations last night and I mentioned my favorites and I feel more… Comfortable I guess you could say… Looking for the locations now that I know he’s interested as well. Oh it’s so exciting!
The time I’ve been really wanting is October 2013, but I don’t know if I could wait that long, I’m much too excited now!

We’re in the same crazy boat, haha. I’ve planned a TON, started working on centerpieces, and he gave me the go ahead to start working on our registry [which I promptly did that night]. He’s paying on the ring, so I know it’s coming. It’s all very exciting, isn’t it?!

OMG, someone else in my boat!!! 🙂 I’ve gotten the same thing from my Boyfriend or Best Friend.. .I’ve been told to go ahead and start planning/calling places and getting ideas! Seems crazy to me, because I feel a little weird doing so without the ring……. but I too have a wedding notebook/binder, and also a master excel sheet with all sorts of ideas and the other day I was even working on a seating chart! LOL! Am I crazy?! Is it bad luck to start planning now? Its supposed to be happening any time now… and I always thought…. “why not get a jump start on the planning?” right? 😉

Aw congratulations. SO is very “meh” about my planning ways (inspiration pics etc). But he doesn’t mind. Once the initial I’m-so-embarassed-for-admitting-this wore off we talked about it. We’ve even agreed on a few things. Sometimes he does tell me to calm down though…

I’ve been doing alot of research in what I want for my wedding. I actually want to elope but want a few wedding related details. We talk weddings alot, even though I’m still waiting. He wants me to be surprised so we don’t talk about the ring, but mention details about what we both want. Have fun planning, and hope you get your ring soon!!

@ladyartichoke: That is exactly where my SO and I are. He typically just humors me, but sometimes he tells me I really need to calm down and chill out. He sometimes insists on reminding me it isn’t about the wedding but more about the reason for the wedding.

I love your story! I have a wedding notebook too, but I bought the next day after getting the proposal and ring, along with a bunch of bridal magazines. It sounds like your ring will be coming soon, congratulations!
