I’m sorry, the teasing probably does’t help much and realising that your hoped for date isn’t going to happen is heartbreaking. It’s not a great feeling when a daydream dies.

I don’t know how long you have been waiting or how much you monitored the “progress”, but perhaps it would be nice to reflect on how far you two have come? Like you said… it IS really soon and there’s got to be some way to get giddy about the good thing (the engagement) that is coming! Smile

I don’t think you should worry about it, just let it happen naturally. Obviously he wants to marry you, maybe he wants to do it when you least expect it.

I think he is just putting on a show for you to make you think that you are FARRRRRRRRRR from an engagement. And then out of nowhere BAM! He will pop the question this weekend!

The only person worrying at this point should be him, not you. I say this because he should know that this could easily backfire on him. My Fiance did that and made me feel like being in a relationship black-hole with no engagement in sight. Then out of nowhere he popped the question. I was so PISSED because I had made up my mind the other way by then and I wanted to kill him shortly after the proposal… Tongue out

He is probably teasing, and you never know maybe he does have it and he just wanted to make you sweat.  He might have asked you the size to make sure that he did get the right one.  Some guys need more than one reminder. You never know but play it out…

Look forward to hearing about your proposal.

Well, it’s a good sign that he asked right? Mine asked the night he went online to order it, while I was in the kitchen. He’s not good at hiding stuff like that. Maybe he ran out to buy it and will just buy a cheap gift at the ren fest?

My FH was asking me stuff like that too and told me it would be a few months because he wanted to pay for it all in cash and need a little more time (My ring was appraised at almost $12K) when secretly he had bought the ring and asked my parents for permission. Then a week later he proposed….just to make sure I didn’t think it was coming.

Gosh All mighty girl, I could see right through your boyfriend as soon as I finished reading your post. He’s trying (and failing miserably in my eyes!) to throw you off ! Act casual on your b-day and try to have fun but I would bet a hundred bucks he has the ring !

@GreenEyedMoon: OMG – I’m going to the Tex Ren Faire this weekend, too!  I’d say, “hi,” but my Boyfriend or Best Friend doesn’t know about the Bee.  If you see a girl in fairy wings stuffed into a sparkly blue corset and skirt, that’ll be me ๐Ÿ™‚

I haven’t been brave enough about the “W” word to mention it my Boyfriend or Best Friend, but I always thought the ivy-coverd chapel would be awesome for a themed wedding.

I’m sorry you’re disppointed, but I’ve heard it takes longer to get a ring than you’d think (I keep thinking it’d be like buying shoes – just go to the back and find my size in this style), and you never know what he’s got up his seeve.  He sounds like a pig-tail-puller, and if he want to elaborately put you off the scnet, I’m sure he could act sleepy… Don’t give up hope it’ll be “soon” by your reckoning, but at least soon by his means it’s coming.

@GreenEyedMoon: Well, who says “I haven’t gotten your present yet, but I will at the fair”. Think about it ! He probably plans to propose there. And listen, even if I’m wrong, Christmas is very close ! Just enjoy your day !
