It’s public knowledge that a women’s bathroom is the worst place as far as germ transmission – I saw someone on TV recently state that you shouldn’t touch anything, handles, faucets, etc. in any women’s bathroom if at all possible. So I use soap every time.

@inspiredcreations:  O yeah, I can totally see that. The only thing I like about winter here is that I can wear gloves LOL it’s like a break for my paranoid mind, since I feel like everything I touch is contaminated 🙁

Washing your hands is a courtesy to others and not just a personal hygeine issue.  It’s the best way to prevent the spread of a long list of germs, and even if you didn’t pee on your hand or touch poop, your hands are in contact with surfaces that are likely to have germs on them, like stall doors and tissue dispensers.  Even if you’re just going in to adjust your stockings, you are touching pretty germy surfaces and if you don’t wash your hands, you spread those germs all over the rest of the office.

It is pretty unsanitary to not wash your hands after a restroom visit, and while I think the other woman could have been more tactful, I think it’s perfectly okay to request someone wash their hands— as long as it’s done politely.

@sweetchiquita12:  I heard that money is actually the dirtiest thing anybody could touch, so one should always wash their hands or use sanitizer after handling it. I don’t do this all the time… when I think about it I do….the thought of how many hands touched that dollar kind of gets to me.

@fishbone:  True, considering that like I said, I am not good about not touching anything in there especially while changing….. I guess I should just wash up out of courtesy more then the fact that I am scared I will be judged for not? Hmmm…

Even if you don’t think you touched anything- you still did!  THink of the handle you touched to lock your door- that handle was touched by people with poop on their hands.  If you think about it that way… I bet you will use soap!  I actually wash mine before and after I go.

@Cady:  Money is the worst for germs!! I basically use the sanitizer after I touch anything public…the bank machine, debit pin pads, gas nozzle to pump cash, money..especially coins..gross! I try not to touch doors EVER! Yeah I might sound a bit nuts but I have watched too many of those 20/20 shows that talk about germs everywhere lol

Washing your hands after you use the bathroom is also a good way to get rid of the germs on your hands you’ve picked up throughout the day–from your keyboard, the elevator buttons, door handles, etc. It’s good to periodically wash your hands, even if you’re NOT using the bathroom!

@sweetchiquita12:  Yes, I try not to watch that stuff because it freaks me out lol. The one about the trays at the fast food places being dirtier then the floor, they showed how one had fecal material on it…..um gross!!

I still think that girl was a twat though 😉

Gross people poop on their hands…. I worked at a fastfood place once. A man had pooped on his hands and wiped it all over the wall. I about puked and refused to clean it.
