Okay, so this is a really weird question, but here goes:
Darling Husband hates tablecloths. He doesn’t want them at the reception. We are going to use brown kraft paper to cover the rental tables (with crayons on top for people to play around with). I suggested that we could put the paper on top of a tablecloth and his response was “yeah…But tablecloths suck.”
So. Before we duke it out, does anyone have any clever suggestions of tablecloth alternatives? Or something that we could use to help cover up the ugly metal table legs?

What is his reasoning for table cloth sucks?

No suggestions, but I love the idea of being able to color on tables.

AH! I’m doing the kraft paper thing w/ crayons too 🙂
I am also using table runners to dress it up a little — maybe that would be an okay compromise?

@lefeymw: Here’s the response:
“I think they look really staid, I think they look really artificial, I don’t think they serve much of a purpose…I’ve always been a runner-sort-of-guy”
(What can I say? He has a lot of preferences that aren’t exactly rational. I’m not necessarily in agreement–don’t hate them, don’t love them–but I’m just trying to figure out if anyone had some brilliant creative idea.)
