it is definitely still the norm to send out thank you cards. and while i can’t remember when i have actually received thank you cards myself for past weddings attended, i know that i always did.  and i think (but don’t quote) that the rule of thumb is within 3 months of the wedding they should be sent out.  i am sure others here will either confirm or correct this.  so it seems like your friends from the august wedding are behind their game. hopefully they have intentions to send thank yous out soon! the October wedding couple still has a few weeks  🙂

@summerbride12: Im of sound mind that they should be sent out MAX three months after the wedding. Mine were out two weeks after mine.

BUT

I was just in a wedding at the beginning of October and some brides arent as lucky as i am. She has not seen ONE prof pic yet so she has sent nothing out…and she wont till after Christmas and she doesnt want the Thank yous to get lost in the shuffle. So heres will be out between four to five months later. But she is sending them.

On that note

I went to TWO weddings (sisters…) over 6 years ago and still havent recieved anything yet!! *laugh*

Either way there is nothing anyone can do about it! Tongue out

I’ve only received one thank you note, but I plan on sending my thank you notes out within three months. One bride who did not send a thank you note did tell me she received the gift via facebook.

I think they both still have time to send them out. I know some brides on here who had September weddings and still havent gotten anything out. I think many people wait for their pro pictures so they can use one of the pictures on the card. I would say if you havent gotten anything by the 6 month mark then you probably arent getting anything!
