@pandaboo: I’ve seen that before. I’m not sure if I’m convinced it was real, though.

I used to always think about “What would happen if someone proposed to me and I had to say no?” but that was way before I was in a serious relationship when I realized that people talk about getting married/engaged, so there’s little to no chance of being rejected.

ETA: If it was real though, I can’t imagine how terrible both of them felt after that. And OMG they probably rode to the game together and everything. How did they get home? Haha.

Ouch! That’s just rough. I think this is the most painful failed proposal I’ve seen. Poor guy!

@pandaboo:  I think that it was the girl’s awkwardness that made it seem a little fake to me. And the way she just walked away. BUT, then again, I’ve never witnessed a failed proposal, so perhaps that is how one reacts. Haha.

@pandaboo: It is really sad, and really humiliating! I’m so glad the right man proposed to me!

Agreed, I’m not convinced either…she seemed like a really bad actress.

I think there’s a decent chance it’s real.

I’m pretty sure it was real. I could understand the rejection bit. Unless a girl specifically tells you her dream proposal happens in public at a sports game, it’s generally a bad idea to propose to someone like that. It may seem like a grand gesture to the man, but sometimes women are really looking for the romance in the moment and she probably didn’t find it. Here’s another similar incident.

She seemed pretty freaked out by the crowd and attention to me. A bit like a deer in the headlights torn between freezing and running away.

This was a prank, even the commenters said so.
