Veils tend to cover up the back of the dress and the hair.  Why spend so much time and money on something just to cover it up?

@MsBlueberryBee: I would have said no thank you to the dress and I am not kidding.

I am happily not wearing a veil!  Why ruin a perfectly good hairdo & dress?

No veil here although my Mom is definitely pushing me to look at them.  Too bad for her it’s too late to order one!  I need to find something in my hair.  As of right now I’m not wearing ANYTHING in my hair but that might be a bit boring.  I guess I have to find a flower or something.

No veil here either! People gave me the “you won’t look like a bride” line, and I just rolled my eyes. Please, point out all the people at my wedding ALSO wearing an ivory floor-length dress… who are ALSO footing the bill for most of the wedding costs, and whose names are ALSO on the invites. Please.

Anyway, I tried some on because they pretty much force them on you at bridal shops and I was like… nah. I already look like a kid playing dress-up, and I think no veil helps make me look older. I’m thinking about wearing some silk flowers and a brooch in my hair, which will be in some sort of side chignon that I’m not 100% sure about yet lol.

Another note, why are these bug nets SO expensive?! It’s just TULLE for heaven’s sake!! Some are HUNDREDS of dollars! :O I don’t get it, and being a budget bride footing about 80% of the wedding costs, I said NO right away!

I wanted to be a no veil bride, but my mom really wanted me to wear a veil. I compromised and had a single layer plain veil and wore it just for the ceremony. Purchased from Etsy for $20 total
