I never have but I definitely would miss it! Definitely one of my favorite parts, except when they have funky flavors! Vanilla wedding cake, definitely staying for that!

The last two weddings I’ve been to, I actually never got cake! It was there, I just didn’t eat it. So I don’t think I’d miss eating it, but I’d miss looking at it – they’re so pretty!

Yes, and no, didn’t miss it one bit! They had a giant pile of cannolis instead. Absolutely delicious!  I heard so many people say,”these cannolis are beautiful and such a good idea!”

If I hadn’t already ordered/paid for my cake in full, I think I would have maybe ordered pies, creme brulee ( though FH wants that in place of grooms cake, yum!), or maybe some tarts.

Meant to add- the cannolis were displayed on a large 3-tiered platter, so the presentation sort of looked like a cake 🙂

The last wedding I went to had a gorgeous cake, and there were slices all over the place. Virtually nobody ate it. You see that a lot No wedding cake= no big deal.

I would only miss looking at it and seeing the design the couple chose (: As far as eating the cake, I wouldn’t miss it if there was some other kind of dessert in its place.

I love cake and I’ve only been to one wedding without it, but they had a dessert table so I was ok.  I think as long as you serve something sweet at the end of the night your guests will be ok.  I’ve also heard that people don’t like cake when they’re drinking (I don’t drink), so I think it depends on your crowd as well.

I would be very sad if I went to a wedding and there was no cake.

FutureMrsJDH:  I have. I didn’t miss it as I don’t like cake. I’ve also been to many weddings where cake was served and hardly anyone ate it due to being too full/dancing/etc.

I’m not having cake, but my guests will be served dessert.

There has always been cake but sometimes I never got any. I did miss it but that is just because it wasn’t replaced with anything else and i have a sweet tooth.  There are plenty of better desserts than cake.  We are going to have a few cupcakes mostly for a photo opt, but instead decided to invest in really first rate desserts for a sweet table.  I would be much more excited for that as a guest and so would my fiancé.  We might have a few guests a bit surprised by the fact we aren’t having a big wedding cake, but I doubt they will be disappointed once they visit the sweet table (which does include several cake options for those that must have cake at weddings).   I heard of people doing pies instead of cake too- I’d be super psyched for that as a guest too!

We had an ice cream bar. Who really likes cake? No one, in my experience.

I absolutely love cake. I go to a lot of weddings where I cant eat the cake due to celiac. I miss cake 🙁 however absense makes the heart grow fonder. I’d be estatic if I didnt have to watch people eat cake in front of me 🙂
