So here is my question…. i have my engagement ring and i do not want a wedding band simply because the e-ring has so much detail it would be too much adding anything to it.. also the wedding band for it is just too expensive.. So my fiance is going to get the inside engraved before our wedding day and then give the ring back to me (during the ceremony) with the inscription on it. The only thing is is that we are having photos BEFORE the ceremony and i wont have my ring on… what should i do? i would like my ring to be on my finger in photos but it just seems nice that the ring will be “finalized” and put on my finger for the first time at the ceremony… what would you do??

Canyou get a thin, simple band the same metal as your e-ring just to use during the ceremony? You could keep it as a memento! You can find some great deals on etsy.

Agree with PP, for example you could get a cheap sterling silver band (if your ring is white gold? It’ll be close enough if you don’t plan to wear them together daily anyway) and then wear the cheap one alone for the times you don’t want to wear the more expensive, presumably more in-the-way ring.

We are doing something similar – I’m not into diamonds, and so we skipped the engagement ring and spent a little more on custom wedding rings, but I’m wearing mine early (so I guess it’s more like a non-diamond e-ring.) We’ll have them blessed at the wedding and then it will be the wedding ring.
What if you slipped it on for the pictures but didn’t look at the inscription until the actual wedding?
