How about “We’re getting married’ for a theme? Loads of people have weddings without a theme – if it’s stressing you out, drop it. The wedding police will not come to your home. 🙂

@MrsWilliams2013: I don’t think a “theme” is necessary. We just have our colors and chose items that go well with those colors.

If you must have a theme, these might serve as inspiration. You could also google “brown and green wedding theme”

I agree you do not need a theme. I would say my theme is wedding.

However, it sounds like what you really mean is the color scheme.  Why don’t you just tell your fiance that you are having too much trouble figuring out how to coordinate green & brown, or just explain that those are kind of more like fall colors.  He probably has no idea about wedding colors.  Could you take one of the colors and then choose a different accent color.  What about green & grey? Or green & yellow? Those are much more summery to me.  Or really green & anything but brown would probably give you a lot more room to work with! (orange, pink, blue…)

@MrsWilliams2013:  Ok so vintage green and brown? That centrepiece is easy and its not hard to get a few bottles and have a go. I think with the table runner pulls it all together.

Hmm.. come to think of it we didn’t really have a theme. I guess our theme was just, “Wedding” lol! We also had green and brown, and incorporated lots of ivory and some gold. Everyone seemed to like it.

I don’t think a theme is necessary. Sometimes themes are well excuted and other times not so much. We didnt intend on a theme, but the venue we chose was built in 1926 and it definitely has a heavy ’20s feel. So we have sort of a vintage thing going on, but its only in a few details here and there – we aren’t going crazy with it.
