Considering I’m a huge fan of the show, my initial thought when I read the title was “Diet virgin Cuba Libre!!”. I think it may be weird to some people who don’t know the show, even with the little added explanation. They just won’t understand the funniness of it.

Depends – are you going to include the lime or not?

I think it’s a great idea, but I also think that nobody will get it. I’ve seen every episode of the show (I’m a scientist, so it hits home!) and I still wouldn’t get either of the references you talked about.

You could serve it in beakers!!  I don’t get the reference because I haven’t watched that show lately, but I would still think it’s cute with the explanation.

I’d get a kick out of it (and get the reference even. 🙂

In fact, I saw the thread title and immediately thought, “Virgin Cuba Libre!”

I think it’s an AWESOME idea, but I’m obviously a HUGE BBT fan! Do it up!

cute! maybe get some cocktail napkins printed up explaining this too, with Sheldon’s face with a speech bubble telling guests about the show/drink reference…or even the little molecule that flashes on the screen before/after commercials. That way they can read while they drink it—I’m afraid a sign may get lost…
