What about making some fun mock-tail?  I’d think that would be much preferred to non-alcoholic wine.  It just doesn’t seem worth it.  Or maybe fancy sparkling cider?  Always delicious!

Kat14:  I’d try and come up with a fun mock-tail or sparkling cider.  I can’t imagine drinking non-alcoholic wine…eww

I don’t know about non-alcoholic wine but over the weekend everyone was having pina coladas and I asked them to make me a virgin and it was awesome!

At my wedding my sister drank a non-alcholic brut. It was Sutter Home Fre Brut, I tasted it and couldn’t tell a difference between her’s and the brut the rest of us were drinking!

Kat14:  When I was still trying to hide my pregnancy I bought a non-alcoholic white wine from the BC Liquor Store (and poured it into an empty regular wine bottle for super stealth skills).  I forget the name but it was delish!  I think it was only like $8 too.  The government liquor store had about 5 to choose from and I also saw some at Safeway later for almost double the price.

Kat14:   We tried several brands of non alcoholic sparkling juices/wines before our reception and we loved one – made by Fre, the one called Brut.  It tastes a lot like Champagne and no one could tell the difference between that and our alcoholic Champagne.

Fre makes other flavors but we didn’t like any of them.

Astra:  glad to hear a good review of the Fre Brut! I was just given a bottle as a “congrats on the pregnancy!” gift (along with cigars for Darling Husband ; ) and can’t wait to try it!

In the US, non alcoholic wine is DISGUSTING.  I am a big wine drinker and attempted to use the alcohol free stuff to hide that I wasn’t drinking at one point– it’s so gross.  However, I had some non alcoholic champagne while in Europe recently and it was not awesome but not gross.

But I’d second the suggestions of fun mocktails instead!  Even something basic, like juice and seltzer water, maybe in a fun glass.

You should definitely check out FRE— in order of best to worst Fre options:

-Brut/ Champagne

-White Wine

-Red wine- this is furthest from tasting like actual wine
