This is possibly borderline what you’re looking for, but probably isn’t in the cheap category:

This is my dress (I think. I keep getting sucked back into the big white ball gown machine.)

J.Crew – http://www.jcrew.com/wedding/Wedding_Bridesmaid/dresses/empire/PRDOVR~30748/30748.jsp’ defer=’defer

This designer does a lot of “non-traditional” with lots of non-strapless options, but most all are long: http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/10/21/adele-wechsler-spring-2011-runway/

Here’s 2 from Watters also:

Maybe you could look into bridesmaids style dresses that come in white or cream as well?

Ok, what fabrics are you looking at? You said natural but what is it you consider natural? Silk, satin, chiffon, or something else? If we knew what you would like best it would narrow down the search.

Here is something I found that would make it so you can get a strapless dress you like and make it…not so strapless.

Another idea to convert strapless if you find a style you love is to wear a bolero.  It’s not super “bridal” and could also give you a chance for a pop of color.  I believe it was bellenga that wore a red one that looked gorgeous.

@soonerpsych – I think it is Bakerella, not Bellenga you are thinking of 🙂
