I’m having trouble coming up with ideas for my BM’s. I only have 2 and they are both pretty cool, not super girly, and definitely not the types to wear a traditional shiny satin bright pink bridesmaid dress (and I don’t want that anyway!). I’d love it if any of you can share any pics of more modern/unique bridesmaids dresses. Would love some inspiration! I’ve seen some on ModCloth that are pretty cute… just maybe a bit too casual.
How did you dress your ladies?

@hotchocolate: What have you looked at so far and what kinds of colors are you looking for? Maybe I can help look for some!
My bridesmaids ended up going with Alfred Angelo dresses (7122), but I think with 2 bridesmaids, you have a whole realm of opportunity!
Here’s my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses:

See mine! lol I just posted. My wedding is pretty relaxed though. I think skirts are a great way to shake things up!

These are my girls dresses from Priscilla of Boston:

I wanted more casual, regular dresses vs. the typical Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses like you described. So we went the department store route.
We got ours from JC Penny.

My girls are wearing these, but not in this color. We are having a beach wedding though…

I should mention my wedding will be pretty forma and in the fall and indoors… so not a “beachy” feel, as much as I love that! They also won’t be matching… maybe similar colour or style, but not exact same dress. There’s only 2 of them, so I think it would look funny.
The colours I’m working with are a fall palette, with my main flower/decoration colour being orange/rust…. thinking of ochre/gold, hints of green. Not positive yet about BM’s dress colours, but something within that realm!
Something like this… but a bit more “special”… but this is the kind of thing these girls would wear. Pretty, feminine, but doesn’t scream “bridesmaid dress that I’ll never wear again”! :

Lol, my girls are wearing bright pink Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses 🙂
Go to Forever 21, J Crew, Charlotte Russe, Deb, Etc. Anywhere that sells dresses. You can make any dress a “BM” dress.

@kamielynn: I loooove those skirts… would totally want to wear that if I was in a wedding! Unfortunately, a bit too summer-y for the vibe we’ll have and the venue. But I love!

Here’s what my girls chose. They’re a little bridesmaid-y but they’re not pink satin! 🙂 I think they all have the potential for re-wear, which is nice. The Bridesmaid or Best Man who chose the middle dress plans to wear it to work with a denim jacket over it.

@iheartnerds: Pretty! Who makes those?
I should mention to all that I am Canadian, so I don’t have access to all the wonderful stores you do necessarily… and am hesitant to get dresses online. But we do have tons of bridal salons that would have all the main bridesmaid dress designers.
But no J Crew 🙁

@iheartnerds: There’s that dress again! 😀
I only have a Maid/Matron of Honor, and I think she may wear something like this.

Looking back after we bought them, I wish we’d rented them from renttherunway.com They have amazing designer dresses, and an entire bridesmaid section! =)

@hotchocolate: They’re Alfred Angelo.

@iheartnerds: Thanks! Looks like there are lots of options on their site… the colours are so hard to tell on the screen, so probably best to check them out in person. I noticed there aren’t any prices on their site though, so I’m not sure if it’s too much.
Thanks for the help!
