I think it would be okay depending on how long your ceremony is.  A full Catholic mass that lasts around an hour might be tough, but most wedding ceremonies go from 20-30 minutes.  Unless you have guests with some back/health problems I think the majority of people would be fine without a cushion.  If there’s a few people who you think might have trouble I would look for some inexpensive chair cushions that could be set to the side for someone who needed it.

Our church has cushioned pews 🙂 But I’ve been to a few weddings (and funerals) at churches with wooden pews. For the length of a wedding (say 30 minutes + arrive 15 minutes early) it’s not a problem for most people. And obviously the church members manage every week, even though church services are generally longer than weddings.

Use the pretty church. It will be fine.

My church doesn’t have cushioned pews! Actually, I’ve never seen cushioned pews in a church (and I’ve been in quite a few). I wouldn’t worry about it, especially if it would cost you a great deal of extra time or money. 🙂

Really this would be the last thing that I should think any of your guests would be concerned about and you shouldn’t make it a worry either.  If people can sit through a church service in those pews, then your guests can sit in the same pews for your ceremony.  If there were a larger issue with the pews, I should think the church would have addressed it already.  So i wouldn’t fret on this.  Save it for something else.. because there’s always something else.. right bees?!
