@azureana: GORGEOUS!! My first engagement ring was a sapphire! (I have been engaged before)
Wow Ladies your rings are gorgeous! I’ve been hinting to Mr Frenchie about an aquamarine ring… maybe I’ll get one as an anniversary present in a couple years.
A few people were surprised at my ring, but I really wanted something simple with a bezel setting that would not get caught on anything and be safe from me, since I am very hard on jewelry. I didn’t want a diamond and I wanted to know where it came from. I worked with a great jeweler in Colorado who found us a Montana sapphire, hammered and satin finished the gold and platinum, and I absolutely love it!
I am a huge fan of Non-Diamond rings and always knew thats what I wanted as well. Here is mine! It is being custom made. The pic of the setting is the actual setting only it will be in all white gold and the second is about what the top will look like! I will try to post an actual picture once I get it.
@ EmSHaw!! WHat Etsy seller did you gets yours from! Mine is from Etsy as well! I love that site so unique..
Your ring is beautiful! The seller we bought from is drndesigns. He has been absolutely amazing to deal with.
Our ring is actually arriving today… then I have to wait until my lovely bf thinks the time is right for the formal proposal, eaak!
Beautiful rings, ladies! I LOVE non-diamond engagement rings, and how, so often, they have a great story and significance behind them. I knew I didn’t want a diamond, and was looking at sapphires and opals when Fiance decided to ask his grandma if she had any heirlooms to donate. She gave him a ring with three garnets. He looked up garnets and loved that they stood for guidance and protection, saying that’s how our marriage should be. He couldn’t get his grandma’s ring re-sized, but he bought me another ring with a garnet!
for some reason, it’s not letting me upload a pic, but my ring has been featured on this site twice – once when they were featuring ring shots from anne ruthman’s tutorial, and again when Miss MaryJane posted rings with a halo setting. (The pic is of by ring by a red christmas ornament – we were engaged three days before Christmas.)
I can’t upload a picture but while mine *is* a diamond, it’s a black diamond.
I love it. My mother refuses to acknowledge our engagement because “it’s not a real engagement ring” She’s INSANE.
I love that I don’t have the same old same old as everyone else. I love that my fiance actually put thought into the ring he gave me.
Ladies your rings are gorgeous! I’m loving them all! I’m with Frenchie…definitely want something colorful AND blingy for an anniversary. How long do you have to be married to get jewelry? Lol
While I love my diamond ring, he did a perfect job with the stones and setting….I wish I had let my Fiance know beforehand that I love colored stones. I am thinking about a sapphire wedding band instead of the matching band.
All these rings are so great! I have a non-traditional ring too! I am having the hardest time trying to find a wedding band for it though, because it is raised and most bands sit flush…anyone know of any companies or stores that sell wedding bands that are raised?
This is mine! I got it custom made on Etsy: oval sky-blue sapphire
@Forest: you have my ring! I ended up with a diamond center stone, but someday, if I ever reset the e-ring, I’m replacing it with a sapphire. 😉
carrie.a.s.b. – holy moly I love your ring! It is gorgeous!!!
