I always wanted a nontraditional ring. I’ve been hoping for a gemstone Ering forever! I am, though, a little dissapointed at peoples’ reactions. When they see it, I often get a werid look and "wow, ummm did you pick it out?"

No, I didn’t pick it out, but Fiance knows what I like and want … so Yes, I love my ring!

Anyway, it might not be as big as certain people would like, but I love it. It’s a blue sapphire which is also FI’s birth stone so its a way to keep us together.

Wow, all these rings are so gorgeous! I’m definitely a fan of the non-diamond engagment ring. I’ll probably be getting an emerald myself.

My family is as enamoured with the idea as I am, because it reminds them of the rings of royalty (Princess Diana, anyone?). Right now I have a garnet “declaration of love” ring…if this is any indication, I have plenty to look forward to!

I have a non-diamond engagement ring (it’s a mystic topaz), but the band recently broke, so we’re getting a new setting and band for it made.  I miss it a little.

I LOVE my sapphire ring! Most of my family knows that I have lived in East Africa and do not love diamonds. There is a lot out there about “conflict free” diamonds that is not true and although I’m not knocking at anyone’s diamonds – it just was not an option for me.

I get a lot of people asking if it is “official” which has definitely annoyed me,  but I simply say yes and that this is the ring of my dreams! Here is my ring on the teeth of a gator statue on campus 🙂

I am in love with those aquamarine rings.  That is my birthstone.  Maybe for the 5 year anniversary.

I finally got around to taking some good pictures of our rings.  My center stone is a sapphire — it is set in a rose gold setting and has a white gold band.  My husband’s ring is made of tungsten carbide.  Love it!

Mine is a non diamond as well.  My Fiance knows my fave colors and his birthstone is one of them.  He picked out a 7.10 ct Blue topaz surrounded by 1.21 ct of diamonds.  He did an excellent job. [attachment=333175,41567]
