What about candelabras or lanterns?

None of my centerpieces have flowers in them. My flower budget is probably the smalled percentage for me, and my venue provides outside flowers everywhere. They offer all kinds of non-floral centerpieces. I’m choosing the lanterns to go on some tables. And a designed candle holder that I will fill with colored rocks/crystals, water, and floating candles! 🙂

I have seen some vintage weddings that have used old books and candelabras and it looked really pretty!

you can cover the books in kraft paper and sit a lantern on the top- Ikea has inexpensive lanterns

What about using ornaments?

Some of these are the wrong colors, but they give you the idea. You can get lovely ivory and gold glass ball ornaments.

Personally I love bowls of fruit at weddings.

Or, to build on your original idea, black manzanita branches would certainly suit your theme.

You could glue on some gold silk flowers. You could use your glass vase or anchor the branch in a smaller square black vase with plaster of paris.

In this one spanish moss is used to top the vase. I would not put the flowers low down on the vase like the green ones here-keep them up higher on the branches.

If you reception is at night would totally incorporate candles! They look beautiful!

Just make sure they are inside a glass container so there is no fire hazard problem.

I used branches and pinecones as my centerpieces for my december wedding.

And lots of candles! : )
