- Wedding: October 2015
Hi Bees! I’ve been a nanny to two wonderful kids for going on four years now, during which time I met and fell in love with my fiance. Their parents have been really formative models for me in understanding what I was looking for in a partnership — they’re just truly an amazing family.
With that said, OF COURSE we’re planning a child-friendly wedding. I’d love to include the little ones in the day somehow (and the 5-year-old is super eager to help, suggesting I wear a purple dress and carry hibiscus flowers while she passes out chips and dip), but in a less-pressure-filled way than the conventional flower girl/ring bearer roles. By next October, she’ll be 6 and her brother will be 4.
Have any of you seen or have suggestions for ways to involve children other than as flower girls or attendants? I’d love it to be something they can turn down if they’re anxious the day-of and nobody notices. I’m prone to panic attacks myself, so the last thing I want to do is force these sweet kiddos into something they’re not comfortable with.
Thank you all so much!
